For employers
Interim and secondment for GMP roles
A remediation after a critical finding. An inspection in eight weeks. A validation project the permanent team cannot absorb. A Head of Quality on leave for six months. Interim is for when the site cannot wait for a permanent hire, and the person has to be right on Monday.
Freelance or secondment
Freelance: the professional works directly on a day rate, with a transparent Pharma Recruit margin stated in the contract. Right for established independents and short, well-defined projects.
Secondment: Pharma Recruit employs the professional and seconds them to you. We carry the employment, payroll and contracting obligations. You receive one invoice at an all-in hourly rate. Right for longer assignments, for sites that want no contracting exposure, and for professionals who prefer employment.
Who we place on interim
Interim QA Officers and QA Managers, CQV and Validation Engineers on capital projects, QC Analysts and scientists for method transfers and lab build-outs, interim QPs named on the licence, GMP Auditors and inspection-readiness leads, and interim Heads of Quality for remediation and integration.
Speed
Interim searches are prioritised: the first conversation happens within days, and remediation and release-hold situations go to the front of the queue. Indicative day rates are in the salary guide.
Frequently asked questions
Which is safer for the site, freelance or secondment?
Secondment, if you want no contracting exposure: Pharma Recruit is the employer and carries the employment and contracting obligations. Direct freelance contracting works well for established independents. We advise per case on the first call.
Can an interim convert to permanent?
Yes. We agree a conversion arrangement upfront so there are no surprises if you and the professional want to continue.
Do you place interims in Belgium, Germany, France and Spain?
Yes. Contracting and tax differ per country and we handle that as part of the search.
