Eindhoven is engineering country. The Brainport region's life-science activity is medical devices, health technology, sterile device manufacturing and combination products rather than classical drug manufacturing, and the quality and regulatory roles reflect that: ISO 13485 QA, MDR technical documentation and regulatory affairs, design control, process validation for device assembly and packaging, and computerised systems validation at the automation and engineering firms that serve pharma sites across the Benelux.

For GMP professionals this is a place to broaden into devices and combination products, which is increasingly valuable as drug-device products grow. For device professionals, GMP experience opens the combination-product roles that pay a premium.

Commute and housing

Eindhoven is 45 minutes from 's-Hertogenbosch and Tilburg, an hour from Utrecht, and has its own airport. Housing is pressured by the tech sector but well below Randstad levels; Veldhoven, Best, Nuenen and Helmond are the usual choices. The region has the largest international community outside the Randstad and excellent international schools.

Language and salary

English is the working language at most Brainport companies. Device QA/RA salaries are at parity with pharma; CSV and automation validation roles pay at the top of the validation range.
