Oss has made medicines for over a hundred years and it shows. The town hosts one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing sites in the Netherlands, biologics, small molecules, API and fill/finish on one campus, and Pivot Park, the open-innovation campus that grew out of it, is now home to around 70 life-science companies including CDMOs and analytical service providers. Validation and CQV demand here is driven by continuous capital investment in biologics DSP and fill/finish capacity; QA, QC and MSAT roles follow the same rhythm.

For candidates who want serious manufacturing scale without Randstad housing prices, Oss is the obvious choice. For employers, the challenge is attracting people from the west; the answer is usually relocation support, hybrid where possible and the 30 % ruling for internationals.

Commute and housing

Oss is 20 minutes from 's-Hertogenbosch and Nijmegen by train and about an hour from Utrecht. Housing is 30–40 % cheaper than Leiden or Amsterdam; many staff live in Oss, 's-Hertogenbosch, Nijmegen or the villages in between. Car commuting is normal.

Language and salary

Large sites here have international teams and English-language quality systems; production and some QA roles need Dutch. Salaries are close to the national median, roughly 3–5 % below Leiden, but net disposable income is higher once housing is counted. Freelance CQV rates match the Randstad.
